Another horrendous crime by ISIS/L terrorists

Credible reports from Al Jazeera and the BBC say that Daes or so-called ISIS/ISIL terrorists have blown up three funerary towers at the ancient city of Palmyra.  Syria's antiquities chief Maamoun Abdul Karim said they included the Tower of Elahbel, built in AD103 and one of the best-preserved. Satellite images also confirmed the matter.
The multi-storey sandstone monuments, standing outside the city walls in an area known as the Valley of the Tombs, belonged to rich Palmyrene families.
Their demolition comes only days after ISIS terrorists blew up Palmyra's two main temples.
The group, which captured the UNESCO World Heritage site from government forces in May, has previously destroyed two Islamic shrines - those of a Shia saint and Sufi scholar - near Palmyra, which they described as "manifestations of polytheism".
As I have long maintained ISIS/ISIL is a terrorist outfit which has very little common with Islam, no matter how it tries to portray itself. Muslims have ruled Syria for almost 14 centuries since the days of the second Caliph Umar ibn al-Khattab (R) who was a close companion of the Prophet of Islam (S). He and those who came later to rule the territory in the last 14 centuries never found any of those demolished sites, now part of the world heritage, to be problematic or a manifestation of kufr or polytheism. And yet, these ISIS terrorists are behaving as if they more knowledgeable and zealous about Islam than the prophet (S) and his illustrious companions.
It is absurd and simply criminal and deserve our full condemnation.
