Judicial inquiry into 'sexual abuse' of female student by cops ordered in Dhaka

As I have noted in an earlier article, some men in uniform in South Asia are abusing their power to victimize and harass ordinary citizens, esp. women. Here is the latest info below on a case where a Hindu police sub-inspector tried to prey upon a university student in the capital city of Dhaka in Bangladesh.
Dhaka court on Monday ordered a judicial inquiry into the allegation of sexual abuse of a female university student by a sub-inspector of Adabor Police Station. Judge Md Salehuddin Ahmed of the fourth tribunal under Prevention for Women and Children Repression Act ordered a metropolitan magistrate to report on the inquiry within seven working days.
The student filed a case against Adabor Police Station SI Ratan Kumar.Meanwhile, authorities have suspended Kumar and formed a two-member committee to investigate the allegation.
Ratan Kumar stopped the student of Asha University near Mohammadpur Shia mosque intersection on Sunday afternoon and harassed her.The victim alleged to the media that Ratan Kumar along with two of his associates confined her in a nearby shop, and gave her an indecent proposal. She also alleged adding 'they also tried to beat me up'.
Biplob Kumar Sarkar, deputy commissioner (Tejgaon Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told the media that Ratan had a 10-minutue talk with the student.
